Dear expectant parent(s),
Our names are Anthony and Kelly. We are very grateful for the opportunity to share a little about us and the life we could offer your child as you consider an adoption plan.
We want to start by saying that we have an incredible amount of respect for you and understand that this is a complex and difficult situation.
We live in the east end of Ottawa with our two friendly and kid-loving pups surrounded surrounded by the love and support of nearby friends and family. In our home your child will have a life full of, unconditional love, kindness, understanding, adventure, respect and memories. We are very supportive in fostering an open adoption plan and would love to explore this with you.
We hope you’ll consider us as potential parents for your baby and that our story helps you in making your decision.

On Parenting & Adoption
We cannot wait to be parents and have a family.
After years of unsuccessful infertility treatments we knew our journey to parenthood would be a little different. Despite not being able to get pregnant, we knew we still wanted to read bedtime stories, play in the park on weekends and grow as a family.
Anthony’s sister and mother are adopted, so we’ve always known that family through adoption is just as positive and special as any other family. We are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by people who support us and are excited for us to welcome a child through adoption.
As parents we commit to thoughtfully sharing your child’s adoption story with them - honouring you in the process. We will foster an environment built on respect, kindness, self-awareness and good humour.
We are grateful to both have access to parental leave and benefits and look forward to taking that time to bond.

About our
We live in an old neighbourhood in the east end of Ottawa with lots of amenities and parks, in a great bilingual school district.
There is no shortage of opportunity for outdoor adventures. We live minutes from a beautiful forested area, a skating rink, baseball field, soccer field, toboggan hill and a park with a splash pad.
All of our immediate family members live in our area. Kelly’s sister and husband, live across the street from us, so your child would have an aunt and uncle one door away! We are great friends with our neighbours and have pizza and game nights with them regularly.
Anthony grew up in our neighbourhood, and has nothing but good memories here.
There are many young kids and families close by, along with parks, community centres and schools. Our street and neighbourhood is quiet and safe.

About Us
We’ve been together for 12 years.
We met while working part time jobs at a glasses store during university. Kelly picked out glasses for people, while Anthony made the lenses for them. We knew then that we made a great team and started dating a year later. We’ve been best friends and life loves ever since.
We’ve come a long way since our glasses making days. Kelly’s built a career in the not-for-profit sector and Anthony is a carpenter.
After four years together we got married and had all our friends and family over for an intimate outdoor reception in Kelly’s parent’s beautiful backyard.
We’ve been married for 8 years amazing years.
In 2018 we bought our first home (a real fixer upper) and have renovated the entire house ourselves, creating our perfect home. We have two 2 dogs, Oats and Roo, that we love to take on outdoor adventures.
Our life is deeply rooted in our family and we are lucky enough that all our immediate family live in Ottawa, with our extended family in Toronto and Montreal.
We celebrate Christian holidays, like Christmas and Easter, and love spending holidays with family and friends.
On a Friday night you can find us around the fire, enjoying Indian food, and playing board games or having a movie marathon.

Kelly loves all things gardening and plants. She grows her own plants from seed every year and has a berry and veggie patch in our yard. .

Kelly loves travel and has been to Europe, Africa, South America and India. She enjoys travelling Canada for work and always takes time to enjoy the local sites and flavours!
On the go
There isn’t a weekend Kelly doesn’t have a project or DIY on the go. While she loves a good night in, a day full of activities fills her cup.
Kelly is, absolutely hands down, my favorite person in the world. Kelly cares about her community, the environment and has dedicated her career to the charitable and non-profit sector.
Kelly is always bringing life into our home, whether with flowers or vegetables from our gardens or her personality and infectious laugh. She always has music playing through out the house and shamelessly re-watches her favourite movies and shows on repeat.
She has independent and adventurous spirit and as a mother would foster a strong sense of self-awareness, confidence and kindness in your child.
Kelly’s going to be the type of mom that likes to take mini adventures as a family on weekends, who gets up early for sports practice, who goes BIG for holidays, and celebrates flavours from around the world on the supper table.

Anthony is a avid reader and always has his nose in a book. His favourite genre is fantasy & sci-fi.

Anthony loves to create. Whether it is carpentry, drawings or creative writing he is always in the middle of a project.

Anthony cooks everyday. He draws inspiration from the nostalgic meals of his childhood: the homestyle staples of the parents and the Italian masterpieces of his nonna.
Anthony is my best friend and I can’t wait for your child to fall in love with him as I have.
Anthony has an amazing sense of dry humour and specializes in dad jokes. He’s a self-described nerd and loves table top games, comics and all things Lord of the Rings.
Anthony is always learning and developing new skills. While he spends his days at work as a carpenter, he loves spending some of his free time reading, playing basketball, writing, or drawing.
Together we’ve built a wonderful home that we can’t wait to fill with memories as a family. I know Anthony will make the best dad. He loves to play with his nieces and nephews.
Anthony will be the kind of dad that builds a treehouse in the yard, does math and science homework at the table, and makes the best lunches.
He is unfailingly positive, patient, loyal and gives the best hugs. He’ll be a great dad.

A yard for playing
Your child would grow up in a loving home that we renovated ourselves. We live in an open concept 3 bedroom home with a finished basement.
We can’t wait to see how your child wants to decorate their bedroom.
Our home has plenty of room to grow with a large backyard, full of grass to play on, a gazebo and flower and veggie garden. We hope to spend many afternoons together outside playing in nature!

Oats is a sweet and old soul.
Oats (a.k.a Oaty) loves to play in the yard and just hang out outside. With that said, Oats is also a couch potato and if she’s inside, you can count on her to be cuddled up on the sofa. Oats love kids and is very gentle with children.

Traditions
Kelly’s favourite holiday is Christmas. We love to decorate for the holidays and enjoy lighting up the house with our tree. In our home, your child would enjoy a magical holiday season with lots of family, festive flavours, and Christmas fun.
Anthony’s favourite holiday is Halloween. Every year we decorate the house and get into the spooky spirit by watching Halloween movies and outdated nostalgic childhood tv shows. We even grow our own pumpkins!
Holidays are a great way for us to spend time with family and we enjoy celebrating as many as we can.

Katie met Anthony’s dad while training in wheelchair track racing. She’s a curling and cycling enthusiast and spent her career advocating for accessible housing and communities. When she’s not out and about, she loves to babysit her grandkids!

Kelly’s Parents
Greg, known to the family as Pappa G, is the social butterfly of the family. He loves hosting and doing activities with his grandkids. Kim is a seamstress and loves to gift her creations. Kim is kooky and has the best sense of humour.

France is a youth occupational therapist and Joe is a teacher. They have two kids together, one of whom is adopted. Anthony’s father trains in track and plays basketball weekly. France spends her time enjoying crafting and getting involved in community events.

Anthony’s mom is adopted and he has five brothers and one sister who is also adopted.

Kelly’s family is very close and are always up for a laugh. Kelly’s parents have been married for over 40 years and have three children. Kelly’s parents love to host the family and always have everyone over for holidays.
Her mother is Anglican and her father is Lutheran.
